Ad agencies aren’t “one size fits all” and choosing one that fits is an important determination. High Tide Creative is a small agency by design, but our core team is comprised of long-time advertising and marketing experts with extensive experience in large, competitive markets like Atlanta, Charlotte and Minneapolis. Working in these cities has also allowed us to build an exceptional roster of specialized talent for those times when additional firepower is needed. This business model gives us unlimited flexibility to serve our clients in ways that best suits their needs.

High Tide Creative is a non-traditional advertising firm. In many ways we’re actually an “anti-advertising” firm. For us, its not just about making a media buy and spending the client’s budget. We take the time to determine what will make the biggest impact for our clients and build a plan around that thinking. Sometimes “advertising” isn’t the answer at all… Consumers aren’t sold to any more, they pick “brands” they can connect with on an emotional level. They want the wholesome truth behind what they’re searching for and they want to discover things on their own. Our job is to make meaningful connections with your consumers and turn them into life-long advocates for your brand.

Todd Willis
Todd WillisPresident/Strategic Planning
Some may say that Todd’s 27 years in the advertising field working with various companies throughout North Carolina (including 11 years as Vice President for Littleton Advertising & Marketing in New Bern) makes him an advertising expert. Others would chalk it up to his past client roster which includes Grady White Boats, Lance Foods, Wakefield Plantation, Taberna, Global Transpark Region, and Preston Development as well as numerous local and regional accounts. But those of us who know him realize it’s his passion for the work that makes him a truly amazing and integral part of High Tide Creative.
Tom Lewis
Tom LewisVice President/Creative Director
With over 20 years of professional advertising and design experience, Tom has spent much of his career working with various companies throughout the southeast. As Vice President and Design Director for Lewis & Son Design, a company he ran with his father, he worked with a client list that included everyone from Coca Cola, Equifax, Georgia Pacific, Citi Group, Sonic, and McDonalds to the Atlanta Hawks, Randstad Staffing and numerous local accounts. What you’ll really notice about Tom is how much he loves what he does. Ask him about any element of his design and he has a reason for it being there. And without question, he’ll talk about it with so much conviction, he’ll help you realize it belongs there, too.
Kim Kruger
Kim KrugerPartner/Media Director
In the 10+ years Kim has been working in the media field, she was not only responsible for strategic media campaigns for Target, Sesame Street Live, General Growth Properties, and other regional real estate accounts, she also helped build several successful media departments for agencies in North Carolina. Yet, what really makes Kim a great media director is her ability to see way beyond the
traditional means of media planning. It’s her creative mind that makes her an incredible asset to anyone who is fortunate enough to tap into it.
Dawn Martin
Dawn MartinTraffic Manager
As Traffic Manager of High Tide Creative, Dawn’s focus is making sure projects flow
seamlessly through the agency on schedule and on budget. It’s experience she’s mastered through more than 25 years of experience from both an accounting and management perspective. She served as Vice President of Finance at Eastern Insulation Service, where she worked for 10 years and was responsible for the assets and finances of its seven corporations. She’s also lent her talents to a number of companies including Aftermarket Parts, Inc., Liberty Tax Services, and Martin Heavy Duty Truck Repair, Inc. Dawn’s strong drive is what guides traffic smoothly through the agency—and it’s that drive that’s been obvious since she was young. Starting her “career” selling coffee at a gun club for 50 cents a shift at the ripe age of 5, it’s obvious that she’s always had a strong motivation to succeed and do her best. We’d say in the end, everybody wins.
Alicia Hawkins
Alicia HawkinsArt Director
Over the 12 years that Alicia has grown from a graphic designer into an art director, she has carefully nurtured her ability to see the big picture — a skill often reserved for those with twice her experience. She’s worked for companies throughout North Carolina and for a client lineup that includes everything from Kodak, Home Depot, Wakefield Development Co., Grubb Ventures, and L.M. Sandler & Sons, to a number of smaller local and regional accounts. Alicia’s fun-loving personality and incredible attitude make her willing to roll with the punches. But don’t let that fool you — she also has the distinct ability to wholeheartedly throw herself into developing and selling you on an idea you’ll love. And you can trust it will be wonderful.

High Tide Creative has been a crucial partner in the creation and evolution of the brand identity for ‘The Shizzle’ jerk marinade. We came to High Tide with a recipe idea, and they provided us the creativity, artistry and foresight to convert our concept into a 1st class brand. Their efforts positioned our start-up business to be welcomed onto the shelves of national retail chains immediately at product launch, and provided a great web presence which allows us to consistently add several hundred new Facebook fans each month.
Austin Williams, Big & Fine Foods
It has truly been a pleasure working with High Tide Creative on our branding and marketing campaign. Their fresh, creative ideas and flexibility have made the process very easy. They have an awesome knowledgeable staff and we could not have asked for better service.
Melissa Riggle, New Bern Convention & Visitors Bureau
High Tide’s creative team is one that can think outside the box. They have developed a stunning ad campaign for us that is better than any I have seen in our industry. The legal industry’s advertising is known to be dry, boring, and “safe.” Specifically because of the local Bar Association’s advertising rules we are required to follow as attorneys. High Tide has found a way to create materials and ads that stand out and are above and beyond the industry standard, while still abiding by the Bar Association’s rules. After our official launch, I have no doubt our marketing materials will be the “buzz” of the industry.
